Keller focused his attention on the dream of developing a proprietary sandwich panel. His objective was to create a lightweight, inexpensive, insulating building panel that would transmit light, last the life of a building, and give the architect complete flexibility with virtually endless design possibilities. The surface material of Keller's miracle panel was a specially formulated fiberglass sheet bonded to an aluminum framework.
